Looking in the rear vision mirror while travelling at 100kph down Great Northern Highway, I see a small black shape flying through the air, spinning wildly before crashing to the highway and bouncing with decreasing heights until coming to a standstill on the dotted line.
I then realise I had left my iPhone on the bonnet of the car at the Overlander Roadhouse. Eek!
Backing up, I retrieve the phone from the road, after toying with the idea of leaving it there as it could not possibly have survived. Picking it up, it was all in one piece, screen smashed, but in place. I pressed the “on” button thinking it would be a futile effort and lo and behold it sprung to life! I bet the touchscreen won’t work … but a quick swipe on the unlock slider and away we went – amazing!
Apart from the construction of the iPhone itself, it was saved by having an inexpensive silicone Gecko glove case and screen protector.
All of $20 worth from South West ComputAble.
Replaced the screen and it’s still going strong, you bewdy.
